FALL AFTER-SCHOOL ART CLASSES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SANTA BARBARA MUSEUM OF ART

Drop in artwork shops

Teacher: Luna Vallejo-Howard

In partnership with the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Club members will have the chance to drop in for informal art projects to experience the kinds of activities that will be offered throughout the year. This will be a great opportunity to get to know the art studio as well as try out different materials.

Theme: Día de Los Muertos altar offerings inspired by Japanese prints & vessels

Teacher: Luna Vallejo-Howard

In partnership with the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Club members will work with a variety of mediums including printmaking, collage, and air dry clay. Students will develop a sketching practice, take a field trip to the Museum, and learn to use new tools and materials to create artwork inspired by the Museum’s exhibitions. Students’ art work will be on display at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art’s Día de Los Muertos altar installation from October 25th-November 2nd. Students will receive free SBMA Family Passes to bring their families to view their art and altars.
